Paris Fashion - Winter 2013
What to Wear Photos
Photos from the streets of Paris taken in October 2012 at Fashion Week. During Fashion Week, Parisians dress to the nines - what better time to show-off that killer pair of heels or funky head-dress. You'll notice in these photos that most Parisians are looking "tres chic" in high heels and dramatic accessories.
If you are traveling to Paris this winter and can't picture yourself sightseeing in heels, don't despair. Outside of Fashion Week, most Parisians wear practical shoes and classic styles. Instead, look at these photos to see the general trends that Parisians are embracing this season. Leather Jackets
Short, fitted, leather jackets are balanced with long pants....

.... or ankle-length skirts.

Classic, leather jackets are worn over skirts and sweaters.

A throwback to the 80's, the leather, boys-style, baseball jacket makes a comeback. Wear it with pants...

...or skirts.

Skirts and Dresses
Dresses and skirts evoke the romantic 50's with cinched waists and full skirts.

Ultra-feminine, pinafore dresses are also popular.

Parisians show off their legs in mini, A-line skirts with ankle boots...

...and tights.

40's and 50's peplum blouses soften the straight lines of a pencil skirt.

Pants and Jeans
Boyfriend style jeans rolled at the ankle, and baggy high-waisted jeans from the 80's are a popular casual look in Paris.

Pant styles include menswear inspired trousers tapered at the ankles...

...and slouchy, full trousers.

In contrast to full trousers, skinny jeans are also seen with eye-catching patterned prints...

....and metallic embellishments.

Shorts are not just for summer. In Fall/Winter, Parisians wear tights underneath shorts as an alternative to wearing a skirt.

Shirts
For shirts, the emphasis is on the collars. Collars are high and fully-buttoned at the neck.

Elaborate necklaces and lace collars draw attention to collarbones.

Sweaters and Capes
Parisians wear wraps on chilly fall/winter days.

Patterned and textured capes and sweaters add "oomph" to a monochrome ensemble.

Blazers
Another flashback from the 80's - the structured, long blazer is back. The only thing missing is the shoulder-pads.

Accessories
Parisians wear bright-colored accessories, such as necklaces and shoes, to add a spark of color to an outfit.

Hats are a statement piece this season. From the fun, classic, wool beanie with a pom-pom on top....

..to the menswear inspired fedoras and dusters...

...to the glamorous 40's-style feathered hairpiece.

Clutches and gloves in contrasting colors...

...and patterns add a finishing touch to any outfit.

Faux-fur vests and purses are a way to add texture to simple black pants and sweaters.

Boots
Boots range from high, granny-boots, to sophisticated wedges...

...to over-the-knee leather boots to colorful cowboy boots.

It's all about the ankles. The most popular boot seen on the streets are still ankle boots.

Menswear
You can never be overdressed wearing a suit in Paris.

It's all about the shoes. Spice up your outfit with a contrasting color.

Even Parisian men show off their ankles on the streets of Paris with cropped pants or rolled-up skinny jeans.
